Conference of Irish Geographers (CIG) 2017

This year’s Conference of Irish Geographers (CIG) was held in University College Cork (UCC). The event brought together researchers from all fields in geography, however the main interest for CWRR was in the session: ‘River Science Towards the Management of Freshwater Systems’.

It was great to see a strong river science session with a variety of talks including hydromorphology of obstacles to flow in Irish Rivers, urban river survey of the River Dodder, participatory modelling for sediment reduction and physiographic units map of Ireland. Anna Rymszewicz represented CWRR at this session and gave a talk on her work within Siltflux and Diffuse projects: ‘Modelling Annual Suspended Sediment Yields in Irish River Catchments’.
