About Daniel Hawtree
Daniel is a native of California, where he completed his Master of Science degree in Geography, with a focus on Watershed Science. Following this, he completed a one year internship at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission, and later went on to an Erasmus Mundus PhD scholarship, held jointly between the Technische Universität Dresden and the University of Padova. He is currently finalizing his dissertation, which is focused on modeling the water quality impacts of non-point source pollution from agricultural sources. through this time, he has worked on a range of research projects based in Germany, Portugal, Italy, South Africa, and California; with a focus on the application of hydrologic models, statistical methods, and geographic/remote sensing data to water resource and land-use / land-cover change topics.
