About Daniel Hawtree

Daniel is a native of California, where he completed his Master of Science degree in Geography, with a focus on Watershed Science. Following this, he completed a one year internship at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission, and later went on to an Erasmus Mundus PhD scholarship, held jointly between the Technische Universit├Ąt Dresden and the University of Padova. He is currently finalizing his dissertation, which is focused on modeling the water quality impacts of non-point source pollution from agricultural sources. through this time, he has worked on a range of research projects based in Germany, Portugal, Italy, South Africa, and California; with a focus on the application of hydrologic models, statistical methods, and geographic/remote sensing data to water resource and land-use / land-cover change topics.
