UCD’S CWRR Researchers at virtual ICCE 2020
From the 6th to the 9th of October, the International Conference on Coastal Engineering 2020 was held virtually. The ICCE is the premier coastal engineering conference held biennially that covers the present state of the art and science of coastal engineering. This year two CWRR researchers attended the ICCE 2020 to present their most recent work on climate change adaptation of critical coastal infrastructures.
Dr Md Salauddin made two oral presentations on the wave structure interactions at sea defences on part of CWRR’s (Drs. John O’Sullivan and Md Salauddin) research for the Ecostructure project.
- John O’Sullivan et al. – Effectiveness of eco-retrofits in reducing wave overtopping on seawalls
- Md Salauddin et al. – Distribution of individual overtopping volumes on a sloping structure with a permeable foreshore
Dr Md Salauddin also contributed an oral presentation on the spatial distribution of wave-by-wave overtopping at vertical seawalls, which is a part of his collaborative research with Warwick Water Research group.
- Shudhi Dong et al. – Spatial distribution of wave-by-wave overtopping at vertical seawalls
ICCE (virtual) 2020 was overall a great success for CWRR and we are already looking forward to ICCE 2022.
